Please Don't Tell Bizzy!

Are you there, Blizzy?  I asked you to meet me here so we can talk about Bizzy's offer to "manage" my story. We all know that Bizzy is a TERRIBLE manager. (I heard Dizzy say once that Bizzy couldn't manage himself out of a paper bag full of peppermints! And Everybody agreed!)

How can I tell him I don't want him to "manage" my literary career without hurting his feelings?

Your friend, Tizzy

Hmm.  This IS a dilemma! On the other hand, if Bizzy starts trying to "manage" your literary career, he would be so bad at it that probably no one would even notice.

Your Girlfriend, Blizzy

Yes, but what if he starts tweeting or blogging (not here - he never seems to come to this blog) about my story in such a way that it sounds like terribly exaggerated BRAGGING!  That would be SO EMBARRASSING.  Blizzy, please think about the best way for me to tell him I don't want him to manage me. (I'll meet you back here tomorrow.)

Your friend, Tizzy

P.S. We could also meet at http://www.dorotheajensen.com/ (Deedy's website). She probably wouldn't mind, and Bizzy would never look there for us!

Now You Can See Me Wink!

Those of you who have actually read Tizzy, the Chrismas Shelf Elf  or Blizzy, the Worrywart Elf  know that at the end of each story, I look out at the two boys who (spoiler alert) helped me get back to my pals at the Pole and I give them each a "significant wink". Now Deedy's clever illustrator, Shayne Hood, has made a sort of movie of me doing just that! Is this cool or what! (See below.)

Meanwhile, great reviews of Tizzy, the Christmas Shelf Elf keep pouring in! I don't like to brag (well, maybe I do a little) but here's what one reviewer said:

"This book is fun to read - a big deal for the parent doing the reading - and adds some extra magic to the Christmas concepts of elves, Santa, toys, and tinsel - while setting all of it in the modern day!"

I just love it when people write things like this about my story!

Meanwhile, there is a bit of a mystery going on in the Izzy Elves Section of the North Pole.  Someone keeps doing anonymous tweets about Dizzy.  How he's ADORABLE etc. Who on earth can be writing this stuff??? Blizzy says she isn't, and I'm certainly not.  I mean, he is my best friend and all, but ADORABLE?  Please.

Also, Deedy (our scribe) reports that all our stories are now available at Barnesandnoble.com as Nook books.  I do like the sound of that. Nook book. Nook book. Nook book. Isn't that fun to say?
She says they are also Kindle books. Not quite as poetic, but still a great way to read about us.

Don't forget, if you want to learn more about us Izzy Elves, go to Deedy's website: dorotheajensen.com.

Only 29 days until Christmas! (Quite a frenzy going at in our Workshop.)

Love,
Tizzy

Just for the Record: Who is the REAL Show Off???

I know Dizzy has been a bit peevish about Blizzy and me showing off our Mom's Choice Award images.  I must say that he's actually been much better about all this since his story (Dizzy, the Stowaway Elf)  has gotten some GREAT REVIEWS.

But you should see what Deedy (That's what we call Dorothea Jensen) has been doing! She makes us look like Shrinking Violets.  And she's just our scribe! But her Showing Off All the Mom's Choice Award goodies doesn't seem to bother Dizzy one bit.  I don't get it!

I think she was trying to "channel" me in the final picture from MY story, Tizzy, the Christmas Shelf Elf.  Except no wink.  What do you think?? (See Below.)  Tizzy

Mixed Feelings! Help!

Dear People,

As some of you may know, my job at the North Pole is to pick out Giftbooks for Santa to bring each child for Christmas. I take great pride in my work, matching each child to books he or she will LOVE FOR A LIFETIME. After all, Santa himself is a huge fan of books:

He said that a book gives your very thoughts wings,
That carry you off to see wonderful things,
That lift you aloft, throughout time, throughout space
To every era and every place!

(That's an actual quote from the Mom's Choice AWARD-WINNING story about me, called Tizzy, the Christmas Shelf Elf. You may have noticed the cool MCA Emblem on my hat.)

But what's the problem, you well may ask?

My problem is that I have what grownups call a Conflict of Interest. In my ♡ I know that millions and millions of children would LOVE to read the Izzy Elves books about me and my friends, Blizzy and Dizzy. The words in them just dance along in rhyme, and the stories are just GRIPPING.  But even so, I have to say that I am a little uncomfortable picking out these Giftbooks for specific children and putting them into Santa's pack. Even though they are the very best choice! Am I being self-centered, sending them Tizzy, the Christmas Shelf Elf? And Blizzy is my girlfriend and Dizzy my best friend.  Is it too much of an ego trip for me when I select their stories for Santa to deliver, even though I know kids will love 'em?

I just don't know.

Please HELP!

If your children could put our books on their Wish Lists  in their letters to Santa, I would feel much better about this Whole Situation. Or you can help them put our books on their ONLINE wishlists at Amazon or BarnesandNoble.com or wherever.  Santa keeps track of those, too, of course. (In case you're wondering, we Izzies are very up to date on internet stuff.  Did you notice I'm elfblogging? Enough said.)

The names of the books again?

Tizzy, the Christmas Shelf Elf (Recipient of the Mom's Choice Award)
Blizzy, the Worrywart Elf  (Recipient of the Mom's Choice Award)
Dizzy, the Stowaway Elf

Here are pix of 'em.

Dorothea Jensen (Deedy to us elves) says she will forward any messages to me that you send to her website at dorotheajensen.com.  (Parents and grandparents can actually order them from that website, too.)

Hope to hear from you soon!  Christmas is coming!!!!

Now back to work.

Love,

Tizzy

Biggest OOPS Ever!!!

We just realized we forgot to tell you about our huge award!!!!! We got it almost a month ago.  Someplace out there on the Internet called the Mom's Choice Awards decided that our two stories, Tizzy, the Christmas Shelf Elf  and Blizzy, the Worrywart Elf are "among the best in family-friendly media".  Really????  The BEST???  We are so STOKED! (Still.  After a month.) Deedy, (AKA Dorothea Jensen) who is Our Scribe, is also STOKED. (Still. After a month.)

One reason we didn't make a big announcement on this ElfBlog at the time is we didn't want to hurt Dizzy's feelings. His book couldn't be considered for the Mom's Choice Award because the pictures weren't done yet.

We also didn't want to hurt the feelings of the rest of the Izzies:  Frizzy, Quizzy, Fizzy, Whizzy and Bizzy. Their stories haven't even been written down yet! (The Scribe's on it.)

However, everyone has been so excited for us that we think it is OK to announce it officially. Even Dizzy seems to have stopped sulking.  I think his GREAT REVIEWS on Amazon and Goodreads helped a LOT.

So let this be our official announcement:  our stories are recipients of the Mom's Choice Award. (You might have noticed we've been showing off the awards sticker a bit. Dizzy certainly noticed, anyway.)

HOORAY!!!!!

Love from Tizzy and Blizzy

Now Blizzy is Decorating Her Bedroom with Mom's Choice Stickers!

No, I'm not allowed inside the GirlElf Dormitory, but my good friend Frizzy took a picture of Blizzy's bedroom and showed it to the rest of us Izzy Elves. Frizzy knows just how jealous I am about Blizzy and Tizzy's books getting the Mom's Choice Award. (Mine didn't. It wasn't ready.)

I know how very proud Blizzy is about getting this big time award, but enough is enough. Isn't it?

Just take a gander at this:

How many of those stickers does she have, anyway?

Frizzy says I should just get over it.  She says she is very VERY proud of her friends getting this honor, and that I should be too.  She also says that at least my book is finished now - unlike the rest of the Izzies.  She (Frizzy) and Bizzy and Fizzy and Whizzy and Quizzy are all still waiting for Deedy to get their adventures down on paper.  Or whatever you call it when she types into her computer keyboard.

I guess Frizzy is right.  After all, even though I don't have any stickers yet, lots of people have written really REALLY nice things about my own story!

One person said that Dizzy, the Stowaway Elf  is the best Santa's Izzy Elves book yet!!!  Woo Hoo!!

My very favorite reaction to my story so far: one father said that his seven year old son WHO HATES TO READ picked up Dizzy, the Stowaway Elf and read it cover to cover.

That makes me feel as if I received an award, too.  It's even better than a sticker!!!

Meanwhile, if you want to read some more great things about my book (or even about Tizzy and Blizzy's books) go to dorotheajensen.com and click on us!

Love from DIZZY!

Wonderful New Pictures from Tizzy and Blizzy

Did everybody out there see my newest picture?  Cool, huh?  I wish I could wear this adornment in every one of my pix.  But I think it might make Dizzy feel really jealous. He keeps muttering about me being "Mom's" Favorite.

Tizzy

Yes, Dizzy is not happy with me right now, either.  But once people start reading about Dizzy's own Big Adventure, I'm sure he'll get some recognition, too. From somebody or other.  Hope so. I'm afraid this jealousy will turn him permanently Christmas Tree Green. Now, I do like green, but NOT on Dizzy's face.

Meanwhile, I'm getting worred about Frizzy. She gets so sad every time Santa takes her dollies away to deliver them. How can we cheer her up???    ♥ Blizzy

Annoying Pictures of Tizzy and Blizzy from Dizzy

So, I understand that Tizzy and Blizzy are really, REALLY proud of receiving the Mom's Choice Award. But do they really have to wear MCA stickers on their hats???

I call that Rubbing It In, don't you??

(Wish I had a sticker, too.)

A Red (and Green) Letter Day!

Our Real Books are now Out There!

We three are all SO EXCITED about our books that we all decided to write mini-blogs today. (We try not to celebrate TOO LOUDLY, because our friends Frizzy, Quizzy, Bizzy, Fizzy, and Whizzy don't have books yet.) They say they are happy for us, but we know that they are a bit jealous, too.

Dorothea Jensen (we call her Deedy) told us that people can now read our stories in both e-books and in books you can hold in your hands. (Although she is only holding TWO of our stories. She doesn't have enough hands to hold all THREE!)

My story (which is the very FIRST ONE, I might add) is called
Tizzy, the Christmas Shelf Elf.  I told Deedy all about my Big
Adventure when I was trapped in a gift and delivered to the home of two little boys, Owen and Alex.  They help me get back to the North Pole by using their imaginations (and a couple of Other Things). These kids turned out to be Deedy's grandsons. What a coincidence!!

Hooray from Tizzy!

Tizzy's story might have been first, but mine is WAY MORE INTERESTING because you can meet every one of the Izzy Elves in their own North Pole Habitat! And not ONE of them seemed to notice that TIZZY is MISSING!?!  But I did. You all know why.  If you don't, then check out Blizzy, the Worrywart Elf, and you'll find out!

Love,
Blizzy

I know that Tizzy and Blizzy think their stories
are better than mine, but I have to say that EVERYONE
will agree that mine is the most EXCITING. BY FAR.
Read my story, Dizzy, the Stowaway Elf, and you'll be on the edge of your seats—just as I was, and two little boys, too—in SANTA's SLEIGH believe it or not! What a wild ride that was!

Cheers,
Dizzy

P.S. I just found out that Stuart and Drake (who went on the joy ride with me) are also Deedy's grandsons! What a Small World!

Revving up at the Izzy Elves Section!

What exciting times for us Izzy Elves!  Deedy (that’s Dorothea Jensen to Some) has shown us a few of the sketches coming in for the two new Izzy Elves stories, Blizzy, the Worrywart Elf, and Dizzy, the Stowaway Elf.  (Blizzy is my favorite girl elf, and Dizzy my best friend.) These pix are AWE! SOME!

Blizzy looks so pretty in her story, and the poem shows how brilliant her brain is, too! Everybody else in the section kept thinking I was just enjoying my Christmas Day Off, but not Blizzy - she figured out where I was!  Thank Goodness that Owen and Alex were able to get me home again in time for the Elf Celebration! That was a really, really close one.

Dizzy is, well,  Dizzy.  He gets into some serious trouble, partly because of me, I’m afraid.  But just as two little boys rescued me in Tizzy, the Christmas Shelf Elf,  a smart little boy rescues Dizzy.  Of course, to be honest, the same little boy and his brother are the ones who get Dizzy in trouble in the first place. (After me, that is.) How was Dizzy to know that Stuart and Drake would startle the reindeer into taking off with nobody driving Santa’s sleigh except....well, you’ll find out!

My friends are all thrilled that my own story, Tizzy, the Christmas Shelf Elf, is a Real Book now.  I think they are a bit jealous, too. But I tell them that they will all have books of their own.  Eventually.  And Blizzy and Dizzy will have books by the beginning of October, in fact! Quizzy, Frizzy, Bizzy, Fizzy, and Whizzy will just have to be patient.  Elves have a hard time being patient, but that’s just the way it is!

And don’t forget that Deedy has made wonderful audiobooks of all three of the Izzy Elves stories that she has written down for us so far.

Meanwhile,  at the last Elf Celebration, we  Izzy Elves noticed that the rest of the elves don’t talk in rhyme.  We Izzies can’t seem to stop doing that.  We’re thinking of forming a support group to see if we can fix this odd little habit.  (You see, just writing that down makes me want to say something about a rabbit.)

I’ll be back to report soon!

Love,
Tizzy

P.S. Don't forget that to learn more about all of us and our stories, check out Deedy's website at dorotheajensen.com!
